News and Updates for Whiteoak and Laurelen
Huge News! Brett's daughter, Acres Flats Maybe Tomorrow (Tara) won her class at the 2007 ASSA National Specialty! We are very proud of her. Check her out on her page or the Brett kids page.
Big news at Laurelen... Through the generosity of Luann Buehneman Shelties, we came home from the Indianapolis Specialties with a new family member. We now have a much needed Ricky daughter bred by Luann. She looks very promising, and since she was born on Ron's birthday,we hope that increases the odds. We will have pictures soon.
She is called Lulu for now, since, if she turns out, she will be called Dill Pickles lost his battle with cancer on December 23,2007.
We miss him so much.
Jan. 13th Brett was BOB AND on to a Group 4 at the Central Kentucky Herding Club Specialty. There were 15 of the 19 Herding dogs in the group, so it was a nice placement. He was handled all the way by Lauren.
Lulu wins WB/BW/BOB/Group 4 for two points.
Breed judge was respected breeder judge Katie Gammill.
Brett was BOB for five straight days at the Blue Grass Classic Shows in Lexington, KY. He polished off the week by going Group 3 on Labor Day!!! We were quite proud of him, since he was soooo naked, and not in his fall/winter clothes. Brett was handled by Jessica Starbuck. Ricky's other son who was there was RWD every day until Monday, and finally got WD! On Sat Ricky's grandson from Buehneman Shelties was WD..Nice weekend for our 'family'. Meet the newest addition at Laurelen , "Reba". She is on the small side, but we are hoping for her to grow into her personality.
News from the 2009 National Specialty......
We had a great time, and came back with ribbons and memories. On Wednesday our little Reba placed 4th in a big puppy class. On Thursday Lulu made the cut in a big quality packed class. She was in the final ten. Then, on Friday, Brett WON the VERY competitive Stud Dog class with the two beautiful puppies from Solange Shelties. On Saturday, Brett went through all the cuts all the way to the AOM selection in BOB class! We were so proud of him. It was a very good week, and we felt very proud of our breeding programs.
It has been a long time, but we are going to try to do better with our updates.....
We have added some exciting new faces to our kennels. All are co-owned with Laurelen and Whiteoak. First off we have two new beautiful girls from Solange and Fairway Shetlies. Both are Brett daughters, and we are so lucky to have them for our breeding program. Solange Mindalyn Inspiration is a litter sister to BISS CH Solange Surround Sound. Our other new girl - NOW..CH Fairway High Maintence, the beautiful Barbie, is just four points shy her CH title. We thank Linda Nicholas, Solange and Jennifer Tuttle, Fairway , for sharing these lovely girls. Pictures will be coming soon.. (Barbie finished her CH) More exciting news.... We are proud to announce our new hopeful , Laurelen Hidow Babalu. The handsome Bobby was bred by Veronica Dowling, and she shared him with us. Three others are in show homes, so it was a quality packed litter. Sire is CH Belmar Joker's Wild (our old Ricky) x Hidow Some Hearts.
We hope for a lot of fun with Bobby.
Yet...MORE exciting news to share. Our newest litter of AOC, YES< I said AOC! , looks very promising. They are sired by Can CH Jesstar Movado (2008 Futurity Winner) x Whiteoak Laurelen Winning Colors. You can see them pictured at three months on their new page, 'Hey Arnold' litter We are proud to announce that CH Ricky is now the sire of FOUR CH's. He , to date, has Four CH's, (one of them a BISS, one stud dog class winner at the National Specialty), multi group placing offspring, two major pointed sons (one needs only a major to finish), our girl, Lulu, who needs her major to finish..and several others with single points. He , also, has some very promising youngsters just entering the ring..two of them with Reserve wins. Ricky has a Herding CH, also, who is the top herding sheltie at the moment.
We are proud because all of this with very limited breedings.
